Two partners of the SOLSA-DEP'UP project, BRGM and Inel Innov, were present at the international Pollutec Trade Fair to present the innovative Modulab and discuss with visitors and potential clients.
4 December 2023

BRGM and Inel Innov were present to promote the Modulab at the international Pollutec trade fair, the most important event for environmental professionals.

The Modulab was the centre of attention at the stand (Hall 5 no. B010) in the "Instrumentation, Metrology and Analysis" Exhibition space.

Many new contacts were made and existing ones strengthened during the numerous discussions.

Pollutec proved to be a highly worthwhile opportunity. Many contacts were made with professionals who came to the stand to discuss their problems in the management of contaminated sites & soils, with a need to have access to both the mineralogical and chemical data.

The persons visiting the stand and that showed an interest in the Modulab were mainly from the sectors of post-mining management and management of excavated soil.

Much interest was shown in the instruments developed by Inel Innov and visitors were very receptive regarding the on-site combined analysis approach.

Henry Pillière, Founding Director of the Start-up Inel Innov, was invited by the BRGM to participate to the presentation "Agility for the subsurface: joint innovations by start-ups and BRGM"

The Arena – Wednesday 11 October, 11.45 am - 12.15 pm

BRGM presented innovations that it has developed jointly with start-ups, like Inel Innov, to make the most of their respective strengths. Henry's contribution demonstrated how to better characterise the subsurface through on-site analyses using the Modulab, a mobile field laboratory, in order to meet current challenges in the mining and environmental domains.

• Presentation by Henry Pillière in the Contaminated Sites & Soils Village on "On-site combined analysis instrumentation as a decision-aid tool"

He presented the analytical capacity of the mobile laboratory - the Modulab, and its very recent application to the old tin mining site at Abbaretz, France. The on-site combined analyses provided multi-parameter data concerning the environmental impact of the site, and some very useful indicators to help with decision-making.
